outdoor movies and exploring.

tonight was an exercise in proving the theory that, as long as executed with proper grace and civility, you can get away with damn near anything. (like picnics in public places with plentiful wine and cheese.)

picnic

popcorn is lame. bring on the red wine, fine cheese and chocolate! every saturday night at dusk, movies are screened at the newly revitalized campus martius park in detroit. opera in central park it isn't, but still, unexpected and a pleasant departure from the usual all-out debauchery that has gone on most weekend nights. ;) tonight was West Side Story, it has a special place in my part instilled from my theater-nerd parents. (of course i pretended to loathe it while living under their roof many years ago. but there is nothing like a good old teen angst romeo and juliet styled film.

national

next it was off to see if the opportunities for self-guided tours around the National Theater were really as were rumored...sadly it didn't appear to be the case. we tried.

finally, a scenic tour of downriver, the Delray area and the perimeter of zug island, because adventure is fun and the smell is lovely. someday i'll actually get my bearing of this damn place! i'm finally starting to catch up. ;)
