ever have one of those days where your very favorite photoshop filter is just overlayed on absolutely everything? not some kind of chemical induced distorto-warp-swirl- pink elephants dancing in front of your eyes way...but the "beautiful filter" for lack of a better term, or the sonic maximizer for the musicians among us. no matter what gritty, grimy, nasty, textural city detail i walked past (and have walked past about 800 times), it just looked THAT good. every detail was sparking or the color ramped up just a little more than it should be. so it was time for a walk with the camera. i'd like to know what causes this burst of artfaggery (perhaps you just have to start your day out right - kids never underestimate the power of a hot breakfast...) as i would like to especially bottle it for use in the winter or make a veritable mint selling it...but enough of that. pictures. (note, the colors were all like that, NOTING has been touched in photoshop.)
unfortunately my walk had to be cut a little short as the hecklers we getting out of hand, i forgot that i was wearing a skirt (although not short), and began to be well reminded of the fact - being gender-identifiable and fair-haired is not wise while walking around by oneself in nor particularly good areas of downtown detroit. heckling is one thing but being approached and followed when it is completely desolate starts to get a bit too much even for me.
i also got some more progress accomplished on the project of making a font out of detroit painted sign letters.
tonight is the midnight showing of Brazil at the Main Art. can't wait. then a planning mission. *grin*
