Friday Friday Friday...due to a comedy of errors in freeway travel (or lackthereof), Spirit being rather twatlike in their not letting us on the plane even though we had twenty-five minutes to spare (HISS!), and a subsequent unfortunate repeat performance of the tummy bug o' doom (pssst... whomever graced our presence with that, there is now a price on your head), The Guggenheim First Friday party was not in the cards. Apologies to everyone we were supposed to see, but I think we made up for things in the revelry department on Saturday. ;)

So Michael and I make the (frighteningly early) 7am flight - an excursion that was entertaining to say the least, with quips from the pilot and a rather creative use of the in-flight reading material. Ten years of art school... ;) And Spirit has "Sweet" new planes. (Dude.) We got back to civilization early Saturday morning, and immediately had proper cappuccino and croissants at Cafe Angelique in the West Village, and good naptime in at our gracious host, Christina's.

Took a nice relaxing walk and positively drooled over some things in the Kid Robot and Prada stores - and honestly, I had no idea of Prada's rampant use of grommets as ornamentation. (curses and more drool.) Then it was time for oomp loompa watching and some Wicked Hot Chocolate from Jaques Torres' Chocolate Haven. Yum, and twitch.

Next was the exquisite birthday celebration dinner for Sam Valenti IV at Freeman's. I think I have a new favorite restaurant - given my love for bizarre taxidermy, I was in decor heaven, and the cuisine went above and beyond the coolness of the game heads. Quirky trophies and figs with lavender and honey ice cream...YUM! (not to mention seared filet mignon...)

More later on the birthday party at China 1. and the subsequent afterparty. So.Much.Fun!

All in all, a most amazing weekend with great food, great scenery, great weather and above all, great company.

Yoko out. nightnight. ;)
