I spent a good part of this afternoon documenting the deteriorating hand painted signs in detroit, and many marquees that had long since been victim to the elemets and neglect. Some of the fonts are quirky and beautiful, many words are misspelled and ill-punctuated, but that makes them more interesting, right?

The light was beautiful this afternoon, for the first time in a long time. All of these images are 100% unretouched since the light was so colorful already. As soon as the sun went down, Detroit returned to her usual self.
