more photo geeking

I'm super excited for yet another photo shoot tonight, one Saturday potentially using a location to a more successful degree, and one more in my studio again Monday afternoon/evening. The fruits of this should yield hopefully quite a bit of ammunition and breadth for the forthcoming Portfolio of Doom, har har har, and hopefully a bit of fun for good measure. Recently my work has been all about collaboration - and I think infusing one's work with some totally crazy ideas from those one may be working with is definitely a good thing. (And trust me, tonight will be certifiably nuts!)

After this last shoot it is on to yet another collaborative project, this time a little more fashion centered than photo based. Learning how to screen print over the last few weeks has opened up a lot of possibilities with illustration and fabrics I had yet to get to the level of finish with just stenciling. So much happiness in art-land.

Friday I get to meet with a local tattoo artist, as I'm building his website and graphic identity - super talented individual but this here canvas is staying blank!

Also a work code monkeying project I was fretting about was just really well received, so a major load has been lifted in that department. A little playing of records next week with Mr. Carlos D and the VHS or Beta guys then Coachella for Mr. Burnlab's work...things are shaping up quite well and it seems the existential crankies are getting well worked out. Maybe it is finally a nice warm spring day, but regardless, things are good. Being a solitary reclusive artist does have its merit, but I seem to do better when more people are adding their own flavor of insanity.

And it is time to run around abandoned buildings...
