DRAWING RESTRAINT 9 September 8 - September 10, 2006 at The Detroit Film Theatre. (USA/2005) Directed by Matthew Barney. The most visually spectacular work to date from Matthew Barney stars the artist himself, together with his longtime partner Bjork (who also wrote the evocative score), as occidental guests who board a Japanese whaling ship in Nagasaki Bay.
Dally in the Alley - Forest and Hancock St. and Second Ave. near Wayne State campus. Saturday, September 9, 2006, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. (Rain date: Sunday, Sept. 10). Ecclectic street fair with art, music, food and more. (And ties.) Heh.
