Records "pressed" on discarded x-ray plates. DethLab's first 12" is *so* coming out like this.

So much to say, so little time. I've become a dreadfully lax participant in the blogosphere as a result. Just about every spare second (ok, aside from that little YouTube marathon on Sunday, but sometimes a run of Monty Python and Kids in the Hall is a necessary evil) has been dutifully devoted to a bevy of new projects.

I've started recording again, and it feels really excellent. I took quite a break from making my own music and instead intently listened to music and played other people's music (badly) - throughout that time even though I wasn't directly working on new tracks, somehow it feels like I was developing what I wanted to make - as if some background process was constantly running in my brain. It seems to be coming out so much more easily and deliberately instead of by chance. The technology feels legions easier and more like an extension rather than a hurdle. Happy.

If all goes well, new track to be debuted at Lowfish on Friday!

Just finished up a flyer for the New Yorker Magazine's Michael Mayer party, using the ol' bird stencil makes me happy beyond words:

Note to self: make proper flyer gallery. Flickr's facist policies (bite me, Yahoo) are now disallowing non-photographic works (including graphic design and even photos of sculptures or paintings) from their public searches. Apparently Flickr is now exclusively limited to puppies, kittens, drooling crotch droppings and sunsets. Gross. So much for an excellent forum where artistically inclined adults could freely interact, converse, cririque and share.

Anyway, on the subject of that bird, huge thanks to Indie Obsession for the great little article on the royal bird tie and others!

On a similar note, the TieLab will also be featured on one of my favorite shopping sites based on the west coast,Cut + Paste as well as an upcoming feature in Bust Magazine.

Cut + Paste will be featuring the new pink Smart Squid Tie - if a large zombie tentacular creature just ate your brains, shouldn't it be extra sweet and cute? ;)

And art on the walls! I will be participating in Pr1mary Space's annual "Potluck" show, Potluck II. November 4 - November 25. Primary Space is proud to present its annual Potluck show featuring a myriad of Detroit-area artists AND their delightful cullinary creations. A portion of the show's proceeds will go to benefit the Cass Community Kitchens and we'll be doing a food drive the night of the opening.

4 new paintings/photo to finish in less than a month! (!!!)

So internets, I may not be paying the best attention to you over the next little bit.
