At least we're not alone...not only is Detroit going straight to Hell, but alas, so is Brooklyn. (News?) The end of Galapagos. Word on the street: an acquaintance heard it from a friend, who heard it from a friend who knows the owner of Galapagos - he's selling out in the next year or so to cash the space in to make way for more CONDOS going up in the hood (NOOOOOOO!!!!!) EDIT: Apparently this is just a bullshit rumor. Carry on. Yay!
Speaking of Hell - The old Limelight has finally met it's final doom in a similar fashion, at least it may be an H&M? (Inset eyeroll here.) Not that it hasn't sucked ass for the last, oh nearly fifteen years...but..ugh. [Thanks, Spliffrd]

limelight was pretty awesome the times i went, which was 5 years ago.
I've certainly had fun at special events there - especially the Phono parties over the last year or so - but the "regular" crowd was quite a cheesefest.
I'm just lamenting circa '93 or so when I got my goth on.
I guess that makes sense. Even when I was at those Tresor and Far East Technology parties they had hip hop in the back room and goth upstairs in the Giger-decorated place.
