not progress

What a ghost town. One guard watching over the machines in an adjacent lot, and that was it. I was able to paw around quite a bit and get some reasonable pictures. Unfortunately my lungs are paying for it, they are doing nothing to keep the dust down - everything is coated, it is hanging in the air still. I'd sure be pissed if I inhabited some of the area "Luxury Lofts" and had this mess to clean up. From the looks of it, I don't expect anything to happen to the Donovan for a few more days, the bottom two floors are still completely intact, they will have to be skeletonized first and there is quite a bit of shoring up of the surrounding area to do so i-75 doesn't become a big basin of rubble.

Temptation doesn't even explain. I didn't bring a flashlight for a reason. We'll see tomorrow. ;)

Wide view of the Donovan, still standing. Rubble of the Sanders in front.

Closer view of the Donovan, still standing. Rubble of the Sanders in front.

Donovan, still standing. Rubble of the Sanders scattered about.

Machines, rubble and the Ford Field Parking Deck.

No wonder I'm coughing just as badly as this summer.

A sleeping wrecking ball and it's next target.

"No Tailgating." Oh the irony.

GREAT shots! I saw some daytime shots over at dETROITfUNK...but I'm partial to these nighttime pics. Keep it up! :)

Thanks! I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it (as well as lots of other things going on downtown) sadly, buildings are disappearing fast.
