urban exploration can be anywhere a from an intricately planned excursion (bordering on performance art and the completely absurd - more on that later, btw) to finding the quiet beauty of a lighted sign on the side of a major road in winter, that a rather unforgiving Michigan wind has had its way with.

fluorescent light has an uneasy stigma from the bland environments it typically illuminates - the cube-farm that is today's corporate america; state buildings and doctor's offices - all places one generally does not relish time spent. but when juxapposed to rusted and broken objects in disrepair, the light can become quite beautiful. more here.
