In all of our countless trips to sushi joints around the country and beyond, neither of us ever recalled seeing this. We didn't expect it to be green, maybe there would just be a little wasabi drizzled on top? Interesting. Holy sweet christ mother of god on a stick. #@!#$%&&!!! This was so intense and so good. Like crunching mini wasabi bubblewrap. It induced much crying, which is what wasabi is supposed to do. ;) I want more, and to serve it to unsuspecting friends. ;)

Nami.
Yesterday was a bit of an unplanned (but still most excellent) trip to Nami Sushi Bar in Ferndale. (See review for location only, it is from 1998 and totally useless.) I hadn't been to Nami in a long time, I remembered it being good but not excellent, we were certainly in for a surprise! Their fish was nothing short of incredible, the rice was a little lame, but I'll take fish quality over rice quality any day. Rice that is a little too crunchy and a little too cold at 9pm on a Tuesday night is acceptable as long as the fish is perfect. After talking to their server, they appear to be one of the few restaurants in the area who import their fish directly from Japan. A+ on the fatty yellowtail, mackerel, salmon and octopus nigiri. The Howling Diablo Roll and Salmon Skin Roll are also fierce. But the highlight of the dinner had to be the wasabi tobikko.
