Meditations In An Emergency opens October 26, 2006. The inaugural show at Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit is curated by Klaus Kertess and will feature works by Mark Bradford, Christopher Fachini, Barry McGee, Roxy Paine, Paul Pfeiffer, Jon Pylypchuk, Tabaimo, Kara Walker, and Nari Ward.

I don't think I've ever been so excited about an art opening in my life, this fills a massive cultural void in Detroit and I wish everyone involved the best with getting this off the ground. See you all there tonight, pardon my glazed appearance as I got a harebrained idea to make a new outfit and finished up at about four this morning.

And more art....

Primary Space is proud to present its 2nd annual Detroit artists show, Potluck II. Welcoming over 25 local artists, both emerging and established, Potluck II features the creative work of the Detroit region - on TWO fronts. Art. And cuisine! Potluck II opens with an opening reception for the artists on Saturday, November 4, from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM. The show (art only) continues through Saturday, November 25, with gallery hours on Wednesday night from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM (except Wed., November 22), and by appointment.

Potluck II will feature the art and cuisine of:

7teen, Nina Asunto, Jessica Brown, Mary Bush, Dave Chung, Faun Donald, Serge Gay Jr., Mark Heggie, Rachel Holland, Erin Hookana, Marcia Hovland, Amy Johnson, Jason Keenan, Ryan Lee, SooMee Lee, Christine Lujan, Nathan Marcy, Carl Oxley III, Anne Reinhardt, Chris Reno, Lisa Rigstad, Jason Ruff, Bethany Shorb, Steve Sholtes, Stephanie Skuzenski, Daniel Stewart, Kyle M. Stone, and Britten Stringwell.

I will have four large prints in the show from the Meat Discards series, also coinciding with my cover image and three page fashion spread in to be featured in the Nov. 22 isssue of Real Detroit Weekly.

Being able to make 16x20 archival digital prints makes me feel all funny inside, the quality of this printer knocks my mismatched socks off. It is so satisfying to finally see one's work somewhere other than a tiny glowing screen. I'll probably be offering some prints for sale soon, so enquire if interested, I just never had a reliable, reasonable or archival source before.
