Huge thanks to Adorn Magazine for sending me a print copy of their feature on the TieLab in their recent indie gift guide.
Wowza....I have not fallen off the planet, just busier with more projects than I can ever remember. The lovely thing about it all? I'm not a complete and utter mess about it, it has been heaps upon heaps of fun, my models are all delightful to work with, and a few momentary, frightening cancellations brought people who I may have never met otherwise. Everything works out. I've never been on a shoot where everyone had so much fun - from MUA and hair and the models and assistants and people providing the locations...it truly has been an experience. Two days and three locations down, one to go. Friendships re-established, new ones made. Brilliant locations and everyone being superlatively accomodating and patient. Only complaint is that my body is pretty damned pissed at me since I have grown accustomed to this whole eating and sleeping regularly thing, but the body will learn to deal, sometimes a few weeks of 18-20 hours workdays just has to happen. I think it all has been very worth it to attempt something this ambitious, it is coming together well. One always worries when projects go through the "ugly phase"...I think this one is out of it now.
Sitting on all of these photos til November 22 is something akin to pure torture though! Hopefully I can sneak a few out that are just of the garments and won't give the editorial narrative away. I have quite a few new tie designs completed and the reconstructed WWII jackets - both in the original olive green and in overdyed dark plum and black. Metallic inks for ties....life is swell.
